hey everyone. maybe its been discussed before but i just wanted to know what yall think of the future versions of osx and the powerpc. do you think the versions beyond leopard will still support the G5? im talking 6-7 years from now. i know its been said that ppc support will be there for a long time. i was just wondering how long it will take for the future versions of osx to be x86 only. maybe when it gets to that point ill just throw this dual 2ghz G5 off the roof....

Look around there have been a lot of threads that have already asked this question. I would think that 10.5 and 10.6 will both be supported on PowerPC. The only thing I could see getting dropped would be G3 support, but maybe not since it is the end of the line for the PowerPC. I just depends on how much power it takes to run. If it needs a lot of processing power it might be limited to G4, G5 and Intel processors. Time will tell, but I would think a person should be ok with a PowerPC for at least 5 more years of upgraded operating systems.
