I have a Dell 2408WFP 24" display that I have been using with my PC.
I'm thinking about completely transitioning to a Mac and wanted a larger screen to use with my MBP.
So I connected the display to my MBP and noticed that text has a fuzzy look to it at 1920 x 1200.
The strange thing is, when I use the same setting on my PC, the text looks really sharp. So it can't be the display.
I am thinking that the video hardware in the MBP is not up to par.

    Has anyone else noticed this?

    Any possible solution?

Are you using clone/mirror display? If so, take it off and just extend it.

The MBP has more than enough power to run that resolution.

I've noticed that when I choose clone display, I still have the ability to set it to 1920x1200 - however, it won't use this resolution but will revert back to the native resolution of the MBP lcd.

You have two options - run the MBP with the display closed (and hook up a keyboard/mouse to control stuff), or just extend the monitor rather than clone and use the correct 1920x1200 resolution.

The MBP has the following resolution --> 1440 by 900

The Dell has the following resolution --> 1920 x 1200

If you have screen mirroring on, then one will be fuzzy. So uncheck mirror and ensure that both the MBP and Dell each have the correct resolution setting via the Monitors Control Panel in the System Preferences.

    It's in the extended mode.
I played with the settings but didn't seem to help.
I haven't messed with the calibration.
