Simply, are they useful?
Does it lower bandwith per port if you're using all 3 ports on one (or just simply multiple ports)?
And, does it still provide power to the device?

I would assume that the bandwidth would get lowered as the number of connected peripherals increases.

I have seen ones out there (Belkin did one, not sure if they still do) that are powered by an A.C. supply.
