G-Technology Drive not registering 3TB drive

Hi there,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I bought a G-Technology 1TB G-Drive about 3 years ago, I wanted to upgrade the storage to 3TB and it seems impossible.. No matter how I format the drive I keep getting a limit of 800gb.. In any other enclosure it reads 3TB, but not in the G-Drive.. Is there a way to bypass this??

There were issues going from 2TB to 3TB, might be your G-Tech needs a firmware update. check with them.
