G3 B&W won't start up w/o PMU reset

My blue and white G3 doesn't start up unless the PMU/cuda button is pushed before the computer is plugged in. It refuses to do a thing- no fans, hard drive, etc. Once the button is pressed, it boots perfectly. Suggestions?

Have you tried replacing the PRAM battery?

I have not. Glad to hear the solution is so simple, I was worried it was the motherboard.

That may be the solution. If that doesn't fix it, then the power supply may be failing.
