My g3 500mhz ibook screen died . . . if I look very carefully in the right lighting, I can see a faint image of bright objects on the screen . . . looking on the net, I think the inverter is dead. If this is the case, do you think it is worth the cost to fix or should I sell it off for parts. (by the way, I have no idea how much it will cost to fix 😕 if this is really the problem).

When using a vga adaptor and connecting to a projector I can view the display and have been able to burn cds to retrieve some data for the new ibook I've already purchased.

Thanks in advance!

If you already have a new iBook coming, I would just dump it on eBay. It will be at least 300 bucks to fix, so I would just skip it. Or you could make a . 😉
