G4 550 PB: broken display, need to boot w/ external monitor-Help!

Hi!

So the dispay on my G4 550 powerbook is no longer of this world, due to a traumatic accident. I need to run the computer with an external monitor in mirror mode, but cannot get to the monitor dialogue window to configure this because the display is dead....any ideas?
