Funny how the two words have been used together in the past, eh? ;)

White to me demonstrates sterilization, cleanliness and streamlined.

if you look at the pictures of the xserve interior its so amazing. they packed 4 HDs. 2 processors and 3 pci slots into that thing. This makes me think apple is headed in the direction of maybe even declairing the tower....dead....of course still giving pros all the expandability they crave.

To those thinking that the Jaguar builds are hinting at the future colors of the PowerMac, I can tell you no! The simple logic is: look at OSX now. What computer is represented in the menu bar for "computer?" Its an old iMac.

What color mouse went with the old iMac? A grey one.

What computer is represented in the menu bar for "computer" in Jaguar? Its a new G4 iMac.

And...

Hence the mouse preference panel would follow with a white mouse, which goes with the white iMac.

This can also point to Apple's main direction with their OS if you think about it....

Small case design, huge benchmark bumbs would make me a happy camper. but where is the handle? I LOVE the handle to open the case.

I just can not wait... I'm going to go infiltrate apple tonight...

Or I may talk to my buddy here in Huntspatch and have him ask Jobs why I can't get on the Shuttle.

Oh that reminds me...they have a display room there in apple lined with current computers, prototypes etc...thought you all would be interested in that.

Perhaps if we could get a look in that room, we could see what's coming up

The next Kexboard and Mouse will be white! You remember the screenshots of Jaguar? There is a screenshot of the system preferences panel and the mouse symbol is not black anymore, it is white!!!

PLEEEEASE dont let the new keyboards and stuff be white!!!!
They get so filthy after a while, and yes I wash my hands a lot. :)

probably not...

The quality makes it hard to tell if its authentic or not, but I would venture to guess like everyone else that it is just a Dual 1 gig G4 set-up. That Cinema display brings tears to my eyes by the way. It is a very beautiful thing :-D:p

Handle

My big problem with the first pic posted is that there is no handle for the Easy-Access Panel on the G4. Apple wouldn't get rid of that in a zillion years. It's what makes the G4 so nice, no screws to open it. That's my reason for calling it a fake.

ok ok....

Take it easy everyone... this photo should have been explained on the first reply. 1. The photo appears to be reversed and that explains the "no handle"? (if you actually reverse the photo the apple logo get's reversed so that might not be true)
OR
1.a. The photo was fixed to remove the handle.
2. The white speaker and chrome look of the logo are from the white table and underlighting. The speaker is chrome so it will pickup the colors if you look at it at certain angles...the same with the logo. The logo sticks out on the case so it will pick up the color and shine making it look chrome or whatever.

This is not a new machine or prototype or anything other than a quicksilver case.
End of story.

yup....

I agree with that response right there. Makes a lot of sense. Also you may want to consider the reflection from the white background from the underlight. That could do some weird things. And if this guy used his panasonic, he could have had some extra light off the top of his camera adding more light to the shot making it look whiter than usual.

Sorry - this image is not reverse - if that was so, then the Apple logo would be the wrong way round.

In my opinion there's an 80% chance that this picture is authentic.

I agree that the PowerMac is heading towards white and chrome, just like the rest of the product line, except the TiBook & xServe, where size & heat dispersion make Titanium an advantage.

In my opinion, whilst Titanium looks great on a TiBook (I'm using one right now), it would look like an old-fashioned 80's hi-fi system is you used it on a desktop.

I have no doubt that the new PowerMac keyboards & mice will be white.

The question is, will we see this system next week, or have to wait until August.

I edited my post before reading yours about the reversal issue. On that note then I would say that the photo is doctored a little so that the handle is missing. I stick with my comments about the colors though. I also would disagree that this is 80% authentic. Apple doesn't display future cases like this one is displayed.

Where was it shot?

This does not appear to be an Apple Retail Store - the Apple Store's wall mounted benches are pine, not light-boxes.

The light-box benches are used on Apple's exhibition stands. Of course, the show is not yet set up at the Jacob Javits center in NY, but it will have been tested at a secret location elsewhere, and they would undoubtedly have set up the new products to lauch at the show on it. This is the biggest indication yet that there may be better news for us rumor fans at MWNY than c|net and Think Secret anticipate!

It's not a future box and the shot was taken at a expo...maybe MWTY? Check out some of the shots here: http://homepage.mac.com/icruise1/MWTokyo2002.html
Check out the cinema display photo. This is no indication that there will be a new powermac at the MWNY. The photo at the top of this thread is just a quicksilver!

Hello,

I am submitting the picture below to some rumor sites, especially since apple blacklisted you folks. This is a video capture from a cheap panasonic camcorder an apple friend of mine has. It features a 23 inch cinema display next to a g4 that looks slightly different from the normal dual-gig cases. It seems to be more white, and the apple on the side is smaller (kinda looks metallic too).

I am submitting this cause i'd people's opinions on this, if its real or not. the resolution isnt very high (probably due to the pisspoor quality of the walmart-reject panasonic camcorder), and i dont know why the keyboard is missing. other than that, i do not see and photoshopping or other artifacts that would prove it a fake at all.

anyone?

I'm sorry people but I can't let this one go... The explanation of the picture just sounds too fake. This is nothing more than a quicksilver... probably taken at MWSF or Tokyo.
