I recently picked up a M5183 Apple G4 with an upgraded CPU that appears to be a third party upgrade but I was not able to find the manufacture. The only text that I was able to locate are the CPU type (Motorola 7450), an assembly number: 0517040080 SDR-867, and some text along the side: "G4 Upgrade, SDR."

I was the only thing that I was able to find that was remotely close was on the website EveryMac, referencing the use of a Motorola 867MHz 7450 on a G4 "Quicksilver. Is this a AltiVec "Velocity Engine" vector processor or some other CPU upgrade? Does anyone know where I can locate the firmware for this CPU? Any other information is also help about this processor. --Thanks, Chad

7450 is the G4 CPU itself. "Velocity Engine" describes the AltiVec extension of the PowerPC Architecture.

The Copyright on the reverse side says "2003 FM", indicating it's a FastMac processor upgrade card of some variety. And the connector is definitely for a G4 AGP (given that you pulled it from that machine). I can't really identify more than that.

Thats a FastMac upgrade with a 7451 (a low-power version of the 7450) (yes its a 7451, not a 7450, the "Motorola 7450" on the chip means the processor group, not the exact type) running at 867MHz in 133-Bus G4s and running 800MHz in 100-Bus G4s. Worthy about 150 bucks.
Referring to the last link: What makes me laugh though is that FastMac claims that these 7410 processors go up to 1.5GHz.
