Another random issue and question it seems like.

So I have the mac mini (i've not tried the other mac mini) (the intel one seems issue free at the moment...) the DVI to VGA cable works but the DVI to HDMI does not. Does this mean (the cable isn't bad since I use it with the Mac Pro classic) that it can't output a digital signal or do I have to have a monitor that uses DVI cables. I just want it on a larger monitor since its currently on a 4x3.

Also had issues like not finding the os which i guess could be apart of it not being able to display on the other monitor but everything seems fine now on the small one.

trying to understand but confused. Did you get working with HDMI? if so how. I might have to use VGA or straight DVI. I do have other monitors I can use maybe the other HDMI one will work.

My Mini G4 has the exact opposite problem. I can't output to VGA regardless of what combination of adapter and monitor I use.

I can't remember if I tried HDMI or not but I'll try it one of these days.

It's all super weird because as far as electrical signals go, the DVI-I included on the Mac Mini has the requiried pins for VGA which is why those adapters work in the first place.. HDMI and DVI are identical save for the design of the phyical port. There's something weird about the Mini's port I guess.

So the other mac mini which has 512mb of ram works flawlessly using the cable but the main one using 1GB of ram I have to hold the option key to get it to boot and the display turns off halfway through the boot cycle. It doesn't recognize the HD when I don't press the option key but this only applies to being hooked up with HDMI.

weird

In the 1 GB MM I have an ATI Radeon 9200 not sure if all MM have that or what or if I change the timing or anything really

Your not alone, my G4 mini will not work on HDMI either.
