G4 Sawtooth won't boot after fan replacement

Have you tried replacing the new fans with the old (noisy but presumably working) fans.

I don't know how much time/effort is involved but sounds as if the new fans are faulty - where did you get them ?
 
After lots of trying many different ideas I finally have it running again.

Yay me! 🙂
