G4 won't find flash drive

I have a powerpc g4. I recently bought a 8gb HP flash drive in order to move files from this computer to a new imac. When i plug the flash drive into the keyboard, I get the message saying 'usb low power notice'. When I plug it into a usb on the monitor or back of the computer it does nothing and never shows up on the desktop. According to the package it works with pc/mac os 10.3 or later. I have 10.4 Any input would be appreciated.

Does it show up in Disk Utility?

I get the same (nothing) whether I plug into the monitor or the back of tower. It does not show up in disk utility.

Does the flash drive work in other computers?

Will have to find that out when I get home. Nothing here to check it on.

I did try it on my HP printer. It found it and recognized that there were no pictures on it.
