Hey guys, My g5 has been getting loud lately. I am guessing it the fans but it never did this before. It is cold here so i can not imagine it is getting too hot. It kicks in every minute or soem time less.
Any suggestions?

The only think i did as of mantaince is run onyX.

What version of OS X are you running? In the Energy Saver Prefereneces->Options what is your Processor Performance set to? If it's set to Automatic, try setting it to Highest (yes, this sounds counter intuitive).

i am running 10.3.8

and it was set to auto so i changed it to highest.
I am going to reboot now.

I will let you know if i see any differents

It's 10.3.8. Alot of people have been having this problem with there G5s, but many have not. Apple's bound to release a fix soon.

Search the forums for "10.3.8" and "fans" and you'll see.

Just FYI, you didn't need to reboot.
