I'm just wondering if the known bottlenecks of the G5 firewire write speed (barefeats drew this conclusion) were fixed by any updates recently, or if people here found a solution? Has apple just moved on from this problem?
I just bought the 1TB Maxtor One Touch III, (RAID 0) firewire 800. Its supposed to be 92 mb/s, 42 through firewire 400. Well, in my G5 I'm at 42mb/s in the firewire 800 which doesn't surprise me because I heard about these problems before.
Just looking for advice, solutions.
