actually last year apple sold 62% more computers in germany than in the year before now they are back on the same amount they had 1998 and first time increasing marketshare since years

new models (G5 powermac, G4 iBook) better sales .period.

a new iMac could profit on the ipod/iTMS Europe media attention very easily. i doubt apple will miss that chance. (in a interview a apple germany manager said they will release iTMS in europe as soon as possible _this year_)

edit: i forgot to completly agree on your posts rdowns

Apple may be shipping mor eunits but their market share is dwindling. Say all computer makers shipped 1,000 PCs and Apple had 3% or 30. Next year, all computer makers ship 2,000 PCs and Apple sells 50. They sold more units but had a lower market share. Their increased unit sales are not keeping pace with the expanding market.

iknow that
the computer sales increased by 11% this year
with 62% sold more by apple yes they increased marketshare ..in germany

example:
units sold: 100
X sells: 10
marketshare: 10%

market sells 10% more
X sells 50% more

next year:
units sold 110
X sells 15
marketshare 13,64%

only example but with their higher increase than the rest of the market they gained marketshare (well perhaps 0,2 percent ) but thats better than losing marketshare like all the years before.. they are at 1,5-1,7 percent i guess and they were nearly below 1 already
media presence/new models and they can finish this year with increasing marketshare again (in germany)
