G5 Power Tower - no sound outta rear& front RCA jacks

Hallo All:

just happened - have my mini stereo plugged into back of my G5 Power Tower Quad - iTunes through to mini stereo

all of sudden I got no sound - shut computer down - restart I had to reset - restarted and sound again - then sound quit and now no sound period outta front or rear RCA outputs

internal micro speaker works fine

Sound card crapped ? anyone have experience

I'm guessing you've checked to make sure all your sound settings in Preferences are correct? Maybe it switched over to the optical outputs or something? Unfortunately troubleshooting recommends a logicboard replacement if an audio failure occurs. Personally I would do everything possible to make sure it isn't software related. Reinstall Mac OS if you have to. Can you log into another account to see if audio works there?

You can also try possible resets: PRAM and PMU.
