Hi there. I am setting up a creative studio for myself, and have a G5 with a DVI port and would like to hook this up to a Vizio plasma with an HDMI port.
    I had 2 questions:
    1. I was wondering if this would allow me to play both video and sound through the computer, and
    2. I was wondering if the new MacPros will have an HDMI port to runt HDMI to HDMI. All the mew Pcs seem to have this.

    These cable seem pretty expensive.

Thank you to all for any and all help... I appreciate it!

    1. Any kind of DVI can't forward the sound. You'll be able to send the video signal without any conversion. Only a simple DVI to HDMI will be necessary.

    2. I don't think Apple with ever have HDMI. I think new MacPro will have DisplayPort. Also, as they stated when they released the Macbook/MacbookPro "HDMI is limited in resolution and we think DisplayPort is the connector of the future."

(ok, not direct quote, but that's what they said.
