Ok, this android os thing is really bothering me now, battery is definately not lasting as much as it did last week. Anyone know what it is? I know someone said it was an NSA thing, but I think he was kidding, at least i hope he was.

Yeah it came!

Been playing around with it all night. I like the device, but I need to start using it in every day life before I make a decision.

Really really like the blue. Glad I went with that.
I'm struggling with the back and multi button - annoying that the light doesn't stay on.

Good to know you're getting yours, although not good they didn't get it to you when they should have. Definitely try and get a freebie!

About to try VR for the first time.

Install Galaxy Button Lights 2 from the playstore and you can enable always on or change timing of capacative button light.

I haven't really put the phone down tonight.
Took me aaaaages to set it up how I want it, still not sure if it's what I want exactly, but it will do for now.

I'm quite enjoying having a finger print sensor again, lock screens suck!

The notification light seems strange. Doesn't seem to be many options for personalising the light for apps which is a shame.

Camera really is something else. Sad I don't have my Lumia anymore to do a side by side comparison but I can already tell it's a great camera.
Looking forward to taking some snaps of my dog out and about on a walk and see how it fares once they're uploaded to my Mac.

Had a few issues tonight after about 5 days of running VERY smooth. Phone just bogged down tonight for some reason. I downloaded and played Smurfs Epic Run (fun game!) From the app store and it didn't play nice when some notifications came in. Started getting a little bit laggy so I force closed the app and back to the home screen and the game music was still playing even tho the app was closed lol. Everything was laggy including keyboard so I rebooted the phone. About 2 mins after I rebooted my wife called me and the phone vibrated and I saw the phone icon on the task bar but the phone app didn't appear so I couldn't answer the call. After about 5 minutes things seem to be back to normal but something was definitely up. Also noticed during that time that the phone app took about 10 s seconds to open and another 10 to dial a number after I hit enter. Someone else (I think mrhaul or mclld) had that issue I believe.

Still loving the functionality of the Note and the camera is so much better than 6S+ with the exception of the front facing camera which is terrible in low light on the Note. Everything looks like an oil painting and I guess people with the S7 were having the same issue as well. 6S+ front facing camera is outstanding in comparison. Also absolutely hate iOS notification center after using androids, it is just so muvh more well laid out and useful.

Finding myself missing the ease of iOS especially with picture management (i was using iCloud photo library). While google photos has muvh better features I do miss the ease of picture management between the iPhone iPad and MacBook when using IPL.

Hoping I don't continue to have random performance issues with the Note because at the end of the day I need something that works well for phone and text first and foremost (not that the Note doesn't it's just not as trouble free as the iPhone so far)

Also feel like I'm getting pretty bad battery life at just under 4 hours of screen on time over the last few days. My usage has definitely normalized since the start of the week. I think I'm going to pop my sim iny iPhone tomorrow and see how it feels to be back on iOS and compare battery life.

It's a shame to see the Note 7 plagued with the same issue. The S7 Edge shipped with a software build that was basically perfect, no erratic drain and you could expect consistent results from your battery life.

Unfortunately as Samsung brought updates to the S7E, they brought Android System drain along and it has yet to be fixed. I have been battling with it for the past few months on my S7E and no amount of adjustments/disabled packages has reduced the drain. It has reduced the battery life on my S7E by over 40%.

Now, the Note 7 Android System/OS drain may not be based on the same issue but may just be an errant app or setting but if history is a sign, my money is on Samsung's horrific software testing and updates.

Ugh, very sorry to hear that about the S7E. Really hope they'll do something about that and that it won't plague the N7 in the same way. I remember it happening with my Note 2 back in 2013. Really really sucked for a while. But somewhere along the way they did manage to solve it with an update.

The thing that I simply can't wrap my head around is the complete lack of awareness and testing when they release an update. With a company of that size, they have more than enough resources to allocate personnel to testing. Heck even if they don't want to allocate company personnel they could always set up a software beta program and the community would be more than happy to test out the software and report bugs.

All the software issues are things that can be easily noticed within a day if you actually use the device. You don't need to do any digging to find them and if someone at Samsung is actually using the software, I can't imagine they would be able overlook something like that or maybe it's simply a case of "not my problem."

It's getting to a point where stuff like this is beginning to feel childish, how long do consumers and reviewers need to keep moaning before the higher ups take notice and make changes because as of now it seems as if they simply do not care.

I agree, it's really quite astonishing. And their organisation in the software department must be a total clusterf*ck since they let stuff like this through.

Hopefully the significant steps forward they're taking on the design side of things are a sign of general improvement that eventually will reach their software development process.

Tried Gmail app to being with - don't really like it so have moved to the Outlook app, which I like the look of more.

Just signed up to Play Music for a month and my computer email went off, nothing on the phone. Same thing happened to Gmail yesterday when my Priv got an email but no Gmail notification?

Am I missing something in settings? I've tried looking but no joy.

What email address ? if it is a .icloud / .mac / .me then outlook and samsung stock email won't support PUSH on it with Android.

I would recommend BB Hub - works fantastically for apple email on android and supports PUSH fully too.

Not at all impressed by the Battery results most people are getting, they seem to be less than what the Note4 can achieve.

I am also seeing a lot of talk of a bootloop issue.

Really worrying, may just get a Black S7 Edge or wait for LG V20. Will know tomorrow.

Seems to me that the suspension of sales over a reported exploding Note 7 battery is really going overboard if it was for that sole reason alone. If they have suspended sales then it points to a more wider concern than an isolated case. Could it explain the issues some have had with performance and bootloops ? Is this an exynos or Snapdragon isolated case or if it is battery related will that suspension carry over to all regions or is this Korea only?

The information pertaining to this is all very vague at the moment, I'm sure we will find out sooner rather than later though.

Last week, reports emerged of a Galaxy Note 7 exploding while charging, and we're seeing another reported instance today. It is likely that the phones were using third-party microUSB to USB Type-C cables, but Samsung is now taking a look at the situation to ensure customers aren't in harm's way. The South Korean company is delaying shipments of the Note 7 to conduct additional tests on the phone.

Got me a case.

CPW had one in the back for a few weeks and is had my eye in it since I first saw it. Just a clear protective plastic one for the back. Meant to be £12.99... £3. Oh yeaaah.

A girl also came in today who did a pre-order with us. She got hers yesterday. She had black and we compared. I'm so glad I went with blue.

So I decided to go all out and just do a 3 for 2 on the accessories and got this complete hall for 30 quid!

Not gonna lie... didn't really need a memory card but when it's only £5 seemed like a no brainer!

Now just whether or not to get a screen protector. 😵

I have the screen cover that comes with the phone on still and it isn't turning up at the corners or anything yet, but it's annoyingv that it isn't edge to edge / top to bottom.

Have you checked to make sure that the phone is not power saving that app? I had a similar issue on my S7E and it turned out the built in battery optimization was power saving that app and thus no notifications were coming in.

It should be located under Smart Manager or Device Management but I believe it can also be reached from the battery page in settings.

You don't know. I think this is the appropriate response. Personally, I have 3rd party usb type c adapters. Maybe, for now, I shouldn't use. Aside from this, my Note 7 is great. Hopefully, they figure it out.
