iPhone Upgrade Plan, so it gives me flexibility to pay 12 months and then upgrade. I might do that, then flip the 7S+/8+ if the phone isn't up to snuff.
I doubt I will benefit from that. The phone is bought by the company and I pay back the initial price of the phone. Since it's part of the Enterprise contract any 'normal' consumer promotions aren't available.
I use the stylus a few times each week but not daily. Since my N4 is pretty banged up, there is a good possibility I will keep it. I will still use it for media consumption.
I like the simplicity of the Apple ecosystem. One mail app, one photo app, one calendar app, iMessage. On my N4, I used INBOX for exchange and GMAIL for other mailboxes. I still have Exchange specific issues (ie: like when someone update a meeting request). I use google photos for sharing my pictures but use gallery & samsung app to take them. I create folders in Samsung Gallery but Google photos doesn't keep my photos organisation and I have to double manage everything. Contacts management in Android/Google is more cumbersome. I often have to edit address, phone number that don't auto-format themself. I use Textra for SMS but sometime I switch to something else because it's not 100% reliable. I used Cloudmagic but they now went to a subscription based model 65$/year (exchange support was flaky too).
I don't think I really use something that is Android specific (my N4 doesn't support Touchwiz theming). I have a clock & weather widget. I get occasional reboots (1-2 times/week).
Not sure about the battery life of the iPhone 7 but I'm fine with the size. I work on computers (home & at work) so I don't spend much time surfing on a tiny phone.
The main purpose of my phone is for entertainment while I'm commuting (2h/daily). I listen to music or watch TV shows. Beside that, I send text messages to people all know (99.9% have iOS devices).

Note: I like the GEAR S3 and dislike the AppleWatch. I think the Tizen based S3 will be compatible with iOS.

Bingo. He's an apologist. Has decided Samsung is his "home team" thus he has to cheer them on. I don't get why anyone not a stock holder of a company would be that in the bag for them but to each their own.

It sounds like either device would be fine for you, which only makes the decision harder. At the end of the day as difficult the decision is, at least you'll end up with a great device.

If that's your main purpose... get a iPhone.
iMessage on iOS 10 is pretty cool... with all these message apps coming out it would be nice to experience them with friends/family.

Samsung already has a web site that you enter your address, imei, name and they will send you a new note 7 and a prepaid shipping label to return your old note 7. I filled it out last week and already got an email saying my replacement is shipping on the 19th. No need to show proof of purchase or anything.

No need to tell him, I posted my correspondence with Samsung in this thread. He's seen it. But as you may know, the real facts are not relevant to him. Only the sensational reports and his own perceived facts.

Do you have a link to that site and is it applicable globally ? There are users here and on XDA forum who would benefit as they bought from likes of eglobalcentral and such.
I know a number of posters on irish fora here bought theirs via our online classifieds and Samsung telephone support told them to return to carrier, however carriers here are only accepting returns from the original purchasee.
So if you can share link to that webpage it would be appreciated.
Also didn't you post yesterday you thought your device was a Chinese model and unaffected by the recall, so how did you come to that conclusion if you say you filled in a online form and IEMI checker for a replacement last week ?
According to the Internet the IMEI check has been taken down by Samsung

If I don't like the iPhone 7+, I will sell it. I for sure will miss my Samsung features, but I was a lot more at peace with the iPhone than with the S7. I always have issues with Samsung devices.
The real question is why are people getting so worked up over cell phones and mega corporations?

I was so set on the note 7 I fancied a change from ios im not fussed about eco systems, I just like the most hitech phone when my contract is up.
Due to not even knowing when they will come back iphone 7 plus it was. Im not that excited about it but still is a great phone. Its a shame and such a big **** up by samsung.

This battery saga has showed me how fragile and dangerous these lithium ion batteries are. I am amazed how simply stabbing a battery or merely unwrapping causes it to catch fire/explode with great force. I have many spare old samsung batteries lying around my house and previous viewed them as inert bits of junk. Have now disposed of them.

What doom and gloom? Most have either returned or waiting for replacements to become available. The only other discussion going on is whether Samsung will keep selling a "Note" branded phone or rename it something else to avoid the exploding battery association. No one is saying the Note phone or Samsung are done. A Note by anyother name is still a Note.
And not sure how you come up with MRU having an agenda, he probably has purchased more Samsung phones than you have, so obviously he likes them enough to buy. He's one of the more leveled headed posters on this forum.

Let me say again, point to what exactly was immature? Everything I've said was a response to what he said. My comments were never pointed to anyone directly. It was always to the general theme of this thread. There's nothing wrong with that or immature about it. It's called giving an opinion. As soon as he decided to take a shot at me personally, that's when it started. After taking a shot at me, I simply asked him, "what are you basing your opinion on?" I've said what my opinion was based on, and question was ignored. I've seen him take shots at people on numerous occasions, each time is when he gets challenged on his opinion. That's what you call immature.

I haven't had any updates since the initial one I had out the box a couple of weeks ago. I have had it turned of since Friday though. It's the at&t model.

Ugh, I can't decide what to do! I thought I had my mind made up! I was going to exchange the N7 for an iPhone 7+ on Friday, but I'm not sure if I want to anymore. As of late, been noticing more Samsung devices and it's got me reconsidering. I didn't want to go back to the S7 line, but nothing else catches my attention. Even now I'm using my iP6S+ with iOS 10 but just doesn't feel right. That's not a knock on iOS 10, it's made its leaps but I just miss Android.
Anyway, I just needed to vent.

If you're planning on keeping the 6S+ the i7+ whilst some hardware enhancements is fundamentally going to be same software experience, so if you can keep the 6S+ so you have an iOS device, the N7 might be a good counter device to have best of both ...

Well, if your not liking your 6S+ on iOS 10, the 7 won't be much different other then the camera and the jet black finish, the other colors will feel the same in hand and you'll be hard pressed to notice the speed and battery improvements.
If your not going to miss the spen, the S7 is a great phone. If you'd miss the spen, wait for the fixed note 7's or at least until there is some word on when replacements will be sent out. If your a phone nut like me and are looking for something new, maybe try the LG v20, from the videos I've seen it looks like an awesome device.

It probably is only for Canada now but I'm sure more countries will be available once Samsung makes more Note 7 devices.
I feel safe about my battery because the phone says manufactured in China (I think it is illegal to use batteries from outside china for things manufactured in China) but I'm still exchanging it cause it's free and I don't have to drive anywhere, Samsung is mailing it to me. I'm also keeping the extra s-pen and headphones and charger 😉 I read people in USA get $25 credit and people in India get free VR but people in Canada get squat, that's why I'm keeping the accessories.
I also got my preorder bonus gift (Bluetooth speaker) yesterday.

Thanks. Yeah seems to be for Canada only. But it's a positive step indeed. Was your device bought from a private seller, foreign importer or through a carrier there in Canada ?
Yeah there are no real bonus incentives here like they have in the USA with the 256gb card, BOGOF deals and such. There was only a limited 250 free gear VR's shared between the two main carriers here for very early pre-orders. Even in a small country that number of allocated VR devices is a tiny amount.
