You guys are killing me with these S6 hands on posts! What country are you in?
Very nice! Wish there was some on display close to me to checkout on person.I'm up in Vancouver Canada, they have had demo devices out since Monday.
Must be New York at one of the BB stores there. XDA forums say they have them on display. 🙂
I thought I read one of them in NY had it on display. Maybe it was the Samsung store instead. My hands on was at the Samsung store in Soho, NYC.
Is it true Best Buy has it up on display already?
As for the Galaxy S6 edge, the starting variant is the 64GB model, which is available in white, black and gold for £760 ($1122). The Green Emerald version of the Galaxy S6 edge is also not yet available, as is the 128GB storage model.
All pre-orders made on Samsung UK will ship from April 9.
S6 Edge UK off-contract price = £760 !!

£760 is 1150 here ..... And as Ireland's Euro price is usually aligned with UK Sterling more than Central EU countries - that looks like its going to be very prohibitively expensive off-contract here.
And as I suspected .... No trace of Emerald Green Edge or 128gb variants !!!!! Seriously 1150 ? I just can't justify any phone being that high.

As I only paid €450 for my brand new unbranded Note 4 off-contract - thats nearly 3 Note 4's to 1 S6 Edge ......
Unless subsidised pricing is substantial here - I may wait this one out till it falls in price after a few months (hopefully)
I saw the prices too. Just crazy. The 128 GB version of the S6 or 6 edge are nowhere to be seen. The note 4 seems more attractive by the day now.
Wow those are some crazy prices! That might be the biggest deterrent in getting the edge. I hope Samsung doesn't price itself out of the market.Yep and no blue S6 or 64gb versions on Samsung site either. So basically off-contract and direct from Samsung your choice is ...
White / black / Gold S6 32gb £599 = 829 (No 64gb / 128gb or Blue option as yet)
White / Black / Gold S6 Edge 64gb £760 = 1150 (No 128gb or Emerald Green option as yet)
I knew they were both going to be pricy but still 🙁 reality hurts.

I am with you on the edge. After a while and as you and I both have had so many different phones....you want something different. I like the edge because it is one of a kind and different than all the rest. But if the pricing is that high i might be forced to get the regular S6 instead.Yeah even subsidised heavily on contract - carriers will still be charging as much as some other flagships cost off-contract or on PAYG.
Mind we did all know that it was going to be the regular S6 that would be the main phone retail & carriers pushed as the mass consumer device rather than the Edge.
Sadly regular S6 doesn't really hold much charm for me - it was the Edge or nothing. Given the off contract pricing; it looks like it could end up being as much as 500-600 for an S6 Edge on my current contract price and then be signed up for another 24 months commitment...
As much as I desire it - sometimes common sense does rule my head.
I'll likely not be getting one at launch unless as I say Vodafone surprise me and offer it lower than what I expect. But even then it'll cost more than the Note 4 & Moto X 2014 did for me unbranded and off-contract which is madness.
UK subsidised pricing is good though which is great for uk upgraders , however mobile carriers here pretty much have a monopoly as there is technically only two mobile networks as Vodafone owns half and Three who now own O2 the other, which also licences it's network to Meteor/EMOBILE and that's it. So you tend to find no competition in subsidies and on contract pricing here a lot higher than UK equivalent contracts...

Play with the S6 Edge at Wal-Mart here in Montreal and the 32GB only has 17GB free after Memory System.
So i pre-order a 64GB S6 Edge.
That seems odd to me and shocking if true. My N4 had about 26GB free after i removed a few apps after a reset.??? Really. That is quite shocking - was there preloaded media or something because that really is quite a significant system size (14-15gb)
Doesn't scream 'streamlined and debloated' if true. That's almost double the Note 4's 32gb system allocation which is around 24gb free for user.

Maybe it's because that's a demo unit in store.
Sorry it's in french. Mémoire système, system memory is 15,26GB.
Sacré bleu !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG! That is insane!!! VERY VERY insane!
Yep i'm shocked too. Can't understand why Android is more than 8GB. On my 6+ i have 11,78GB free on 16GB.
