No it is not. Apple does not report the screen time. It says useage that's all. We use SOT as the barometer because the screen uses more battery than other components. You did not get 8 hours of screen time. You got 8 hours useage. Not the same.
Here is my usage.. It's says over 16 hours useage since last time the battery was charged.

Wow...there are still people who think that android's SOT and iphone's usage are the same thing.
No...I get 8 hours on my iPhone 6, even with T-Mobile and weak signal in my area. Would love to switch to the s6 but this is why I'm still on the fence.Image
Thanks for clarifying this Jamezr, just learned something new.
Wow what's with the condescending tone? 🙄
All i can put it down to is the specific firmwares in each of our devices. Strangely inconsistent battery between us all.
Are you using WiFi for data? Or the modem
That and the weird cell standby reporting. Hopefully there is an update in works that will correct the reporting issues. I mean if I am at home and on Wi-Fi all day how can cell standby have that much battery consumption?my hunch is that wifi is involved somehow with the poor battery life reports. All of skratch's high screen time reports are from using lte only it seems

cell standby has been at the top of the charts on my gs4 gpe since lolipop too, but I cant say that battery life has suffered, I've had a marginal increase. I had thought it was some kind of reporting error. Don't know what to think anymore
Doesn't a cell phone still need to maintain a good cell phone signal for voice call connectivity? It's not just about data connectivity.
exactly....it doesn't seem to be hurting my battery life. I just think it is reporting it incorrectly.

I agree...but on my S6e sometimes cell standby accounts for the most battery consumption than anything else. That can't be right.....
Cell Standby will also be affected by how strong of a reception you have, so if your some where with crappy reception, then it will eat more battery even if your on wifi because it still has to maintain service for phone calls.
Have you turned off HD voice? I've seen other report that that feature eats more battery. Go to settings/mobile networks/mobile data and turn off enhanced lte service. It doesn't affect your data speeds, but I have noticed a slight improvement in standby time.
Yep bad experience with it on my edge.Seriously, anyone elses Facebook app being annoying? I've turned off all location/notification settings in the app itself, and have unchecked Facebook notifications in the App Manager settings. What is going on. Facebook is still at the top of the battery list... and it's saying "connection time" or something has 50 minutes or so. I definitely was not on Facebook for 50 minutes today. Not even close.
What's going on? Anybody else?

I ended up uninstalling it (well disabling it) and simply opened Samsung browser to Facebook mobile and sent shortcut to desktop.
Facebook & messenger were using 300mb between them of data almost all the time. Horrid resource hungry so I just make do without them on my Edge and live with the mobile website which is near identical anyway.
Even on my Nexus 6 its using 200mb and I haven't even opened it today on that device. I will likely uninstall and do the website bookmark on it too.
Facebook. Its a total bloated resource hog on Android. This is facebooks doing or Samsung? Must be Facebook right? I'll disable too. How annoying.
Seems like a lot of workarounds to get decent battery life....
