That makes a big difference too. I have mine set to Automatic with Full slider. I find 25% much too dim during the day here, plus if I'm outside at that level of brightness I can't see anything hence I generally leave it on near full auto except late night in bed where I take it down to aeronautic at around 40% slider.

Powersaver mode makes the S6 more of a lag fast than it already is. Some apps like Chrome behave like they're on a 3-4 year old device.

So no, Powersaver is not legitimate as an answer.

I'm on an iPhone 6+ now on vacation and I can get about anywhere from 8-12 hours of Screen ON time. I'm probably not going to bother with Android again until next year with the 6S release.

So how do you measure SOT on your iphone? I can't get my iPhone to display SOT. It just displays device on/up time.

You can't measure it directly, but if your usage time = your standby time and you're not using it like for music or bluetooth or streaming, then you basically have your SoT.

Sorry but there is no way to accurately measure SOT on an iphone.
Sorry but you are not getting 8 to 10 hours SOT on your iphone.

Sorry buddy...could you point me to where it says 8 to 10 hours SOT in those battery tests? Maybe you could do a screen shot of your SOT from your phone......something like this that doesn't involve some kind of math equation from the user.

I'm always glad I have MacRumors to tell me my device is lagging and that things that work for me aren't solutions.

I've had my N6 for about 6 months so its more just to switch it up. If I do get, I'll most likely sell my N6 and hold on to the S6 till the new iP6s+ is released.

If you have the money, then, go for it. It is the only phone I didn't lend out or give to family if that means anything.

Today is my first full day with my bebloated Google services Verizon gs6.

I managed to get 12 hours use and 3:30 on screen time staying on 4g and never using WiFi.I also played 30 min blu tooth youtube music too and from work on the way home.

I have said it over and over again.its not the hardware holding the gs6 back its Android.

Ohh no power saving mode either! I'm now using power safe mode on a mission for 7 hours on screen time,my next tweak is to use a different browser because chrome is eating up more batter then my screen

I get 3:30 SOT with mine in my crappy signal area being on Lte/3G all day (no wifi till the evening)

I get around 13-14 hours with device on and routinely 3-3.5 SOT and that's with no messing with Google other than google location history turned off.

Auto brightness enabled with slider at 75-100%
Bluetooth turned on - connected to car audio for around 40 - 60 minutes. Taking about 30mins ~ 60mins a day on the phone. Listening to headphones. Taking at least a dozen photos outdoors and then auto backed up to Google Photos & edited in Snapseed... Reading Tapatalk / Google Play Newstand. 2 mac Email accounts on PUSH. Gmail on PUSH. Etc ... Facebook & Facebook Pages Manager with notifications coming in ... I don't really game on my mobiles.

But with all that routine and only basic disabling of apps that I don't use on it such as S-Voice, and with location history off - I get 3 to 3.5 SOT pretty much all the time.

Now if you were getting the 5-6hr SOT others are claiming to get I'd be super impressed - but 3.5 on LTE/cellular is what I would have thought 'normal'... ?

It honestly doesn't seem to be related to Google or Google services at all to me as I can't see the 'benefit' from that result.

I think you missed the part where I was only at 50% battery life! 🙂

I switched to cmbrowser last night and it seems way faster then chrome but eats battery faster.

It also used 780mb cache memory.final results is 5:33 min on screen time on a single charge and almost a full day without touching the charger

Edit I hit 5:42 before shut down and plugged in

That's in line with what I'm getting on Verizon S6. Hopefully, it's better with upcoming 5.1.x update but Kit Kat still has the battery life advantage. Not bad considering it's the most powerful phone SoC and about 50% faster than A8 in iPhone 6/6+ but not great like the crazy 10 hour screen on time or 19 day stand by time on Moto G 1st gen running Kit Kat.

I used to get 6 hours with my Verizon gs6 on stock firmware but decided to update to the second over the air update and it killed my battery life and that's why I started shutting everything down.

The hardware in the gs6 is no joke
