I can understand no removable battery, but isnt the inclusion of SD card only a positive? How could it be bad? in other words. The onem8 has it, its not like unibody metal means you cant have an sd slot, how could they make a slot for the sim card in the same respect? 😛

I'm still not convinced they removed the SD card though, seems very weird for samsung to abandon those two items, since theyve fought against google's insistence for removal for so long

I really can't make the case against the SD slot. However I think a better solution is just to offer different GB variants like Apple does. No need to purchase a separate item. If Samsung ditched the slot this time perhaps it was because it was hindering them from reaching a certain level of thinness.

IMO it's a ploy to force people to upgrade the memory, seems Samsung is following in Apples footsteps. They could have just created another slot for it similar to the sim slot.

Likely explain the multiple size option listings and they really need to excessively capitalise on S6 sales and this will boost profit margin on them.

For end consumers MicroSD is good, for Samsung's profit margins and shareholders - no MicroSD makes sense.

Makes sense if the higher GB versions are actually avaliable, especially on release date. Samsung is notorious for releasing the standard storage phones, only to have the higher storage versions unavailable until several to six months later. At least that's what they do to us in the USA.

Yeah that has been the past - but the thing is people given the option of buying a $600 phone with 16gb and MicroSD or a $650-700 phone with 32gb and MicroSD are always going to pick the cheapest and bolster storage themselves. By offering in the past sizes like this with MicroSD they really made having different size options a little pointless.

Without MicroSD you force the hand of the consumer - many who will likely plop for the size in the middle of those offered - if they want the security of space - they have no choice to pay the manufacturer more money.

I think this will be the first time Sizes are available properly from outset.

I imagine it'll depend greatly on whether the S6 finally does the business they need the Galaxy S line to do, but has wained since S3.

If S6 is a great success, then I'm sure they'll likely take over both.

Will see I guess. .I don't always use the spares everyday but just great to have when I know I'm going to hammer the battery.

Seen the renders. Looks very cool. I would like if Samsung can make their phones offered in true black as they do use AMOLED. It makes using black wallpaper feel like the apps is floating on the screen. I never understood why they kept using blue or white or greyish black. The S4 black edition was one of the best-looking S-phone from them.

The curved screen will be an ergonomical nightmare no matter how we hold it. Falling on the sides, not many curved screen replacements, covering it with even a case or bumper to lose its purpose, etc. I bet alot of bloggers and reviewers will write the same things next week after its official unveiling. Reigniting the phablet craze with a bigger screen and stylus made alot more sense. Curved displays with no bezel, no so much. But I am still curious about what developers can do with it.

I'd highly prefer a black one as well. Blue is a weird color IMO. It looks like besides the fugly Samsung logo they made the front black, I hope they don't use a pattern but just make it black on the front instead of using a pattern like the Note 4.

This phone is gonna be gorgeous in person. Gorrila Glass 4 front and back. The edge is the real change in form factor I've been waiting for. I wish those shots were in focus, I can't tell if Samsung put it's usual cheap awful looking chrome touches on it. At first glance I thought they put a nice matte grey surround on it. I'm just dreaming here, but a nice black matte surround with no chrome on it would look awesome.

Also I know I sound like a broken record, but man that Samsung logo is huge and bright. Why don't they just brand Samsung into our foreheads as we leave the store?

Im not sure what advantage the edge gives you. It may just be for looks for which ill be putting a case on it and it will probably cover the edges anyways.

Absolutely need a SD slot with a Galaxy phone, unless you get a 32GB or above version. The OS takes up too much space and we dont really know how scaled back TW is.

No it doesn't. It almost looks the same. The only difference is that the real smartphone got photographed from a different angle which makes the bezel in your eyes smaller. Secondly the Samsung he used is also a sample.

It's a niche product to say the least. However, I'm excited to see what modules are created, especially if Google gives the OK for "open source" modules.

Ara is just a brand new technology. We're viewing Ara now as we viewed Bitcoin all those years ago. It's gonna take time.

In Europe you can't get them at all and you need to import them. When you do so, for example via Amazon you may end up with an Asian version, too.

Those Samsung execs are delusional. Stripping out features you can't get on the iPhone and overcharging on storage is gonna send buyers faster in the other direction to the fruit company.
