Post screenshots of your battery life here. Also, post a brief summary of how you have your phone set up (screen resolution, anything disabled, etc).

Here is mine from yesterday (S8+).

My screen resolution is turned all the way up (WQHD+), bluetooth on, wifi on (but only connected to a network a small amount of the time), location on, and NFC on.

Total battery life:
Around 22.5 hours

Screen Time:
Almost 5.75 hours

At 50%, with wifi on all day:

8 hrs, 59m, 50s on battery total

Screen: 1h 42m 50s

I have AOD on, WQHD+, auto brightness, edge lighting on, listened to music for 45 minutes or so through Samsung app, location settings off, no bluetooth, used a bit of internet browsing, sent a good deal amount of texts to my friend. Will post screenshots below.

I put my phone on charge at 50% before I headed to bed last night.

What are your settings?

I have AOD on, no bluetooth/location/NFC on for most of the time, auto brightness enabled, always sit on Wi-Fi at home, have awful signal at home and work. Anything else I am missing? I need to extend my phone's SOT capacity.

I have my display brightness to 40% on manual. Don't use AOD....don't have anything disabled except that awful Lookout app.

This is the first time I'm actually happy with what Samsung did.they used 10nm for power saving instead of ramping up performance.

I got up yesterday morning and went to the gym and used iheart radio for 75 min using Bluetooth headset.

Left the gym and didn't ever need to worry about the battery all day.spent the day shopping and going out and about and got home and power used the phone for a few hours.

I have it set to 720p and power saving in the drop down and got a full 24hours of usage and I was on the phone alot.

The great part is the phone runs just as fast as say a gs6 does on full performance mode without using power savings and that to me is absolutely fine.i was worried that the smaller battery in the gs8 would not be enough but I'm about to break 6.5 hours of onscreen tome on a single charge and I have never got close to that on any android phone with the way I use my phones.

Thank you Samsung for not using 10nm to break benchmark scores and made the phone last longer instead of going for top single score benches.

I must also say the phone is ice cold using 720p and power saving mode

I have mine on FHD. I am not sure how much power AOD uses to be honest.....i just don't use it.

You don't mind not having the home button icon on the screen at all times then? That explains some of the additional SOT with FHD.

Hmmmm I might try 720p just for the fun of it and see if I can get 7 hours SOT :)

These battery life posts are very encouraging to see. Anything close to 5 hour SoT is insanely good, in my opinion. My Nexus 6P averages 3 to 3.5 hours SoT at most.

Being someone that doesn't use my phone heavily, I believe that the Galaxy S8 / S8+ could last me one and a half, maybe two days between charges.

Thank you for starting this thread, @animalx.

What I also find impressive is that they said the battery would only lose about 5% life over 2 years or something like that. So it should last fairly a long time, longer than you'll own the phone.

I'm still not believing my results and had to double check and think if I plugged the phone in to charge.

Glad it's working out for you also!

let me know how it goes. my S8 isn't getting very good battery life. But I also don't turn everything off or keep it in ultra low power mode either. I actually like using my phone as a smart phone ;)

Let's see how much the estimate will show. It helped with my S7 and the Note 5 I borrowed. For some reason, Samsungs need to be reset to get the estimate to show something reasonable. 16 hrs on 100% battery as an estimate is disappointing.

This was my S8 yesterday which was a typical work day for me. BT connected to my Gear S2 Classic (including tracking a run in the afternoon with Samsung health on my watch and spotify streaming to BT headphones), wifi on all day at work and home, NFC, auto brightness, VOLTE all on. I like to actually use my phone vs turn off every feature and function to get insance battery life numbers. But coming from my iPhone 7+, this is not great. Good thing there is quick charging.

Well, I have VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Auto-Brightness on constantly. I have awful signal in grad school and at both my jobs, so I have to rely on Wi-Fi and Airplane mode on iOS. I am going to see what the estimated battery life is after it "relearns my usage pattern" in Smart Manager. So far, 59% battery after working and going to class tonight. Had to use GPS for a few minutes here and there too. 4G demolished my battery though. Went from 75% at 6:15pm to like 63% by 9:15 because of that.

Here are the stats I have. Idk how good those are, but seems pretty eh to me since it was WQHD+ on it.

After following @grkm3 advice I have been getting almost 8 hours SOT everyday.
I have mine set to 720p and optimized performance and display set to about 40% as that is plenty bright enough for me. I am so amazed by the battery life.
