Panasonic’s New Powder-Powered Batteries Will Supercharge EVs

A company working with Tesla’s main US battery supplier has silicon-based tech that could soon give electric cars 500-mile ranges and charge refills in just 10 minutes.

This silicon anode battery is potentially a game changer for EVs and I assume all battery powered electronics like Apple devices. Not sure how long this tech has been around, but this is the first I’ve heard of it. Anyone know what the major downsides are, if any?

It would mean that china would buy all the sand on earth!

looks interesting, hope they keep working on it and other technologies as our current method is not viable.
