Would you consider this as good as the SteelSeries Nimbus?

I've only used the ctrli but it works perfectly. I've had zero issues, and the tension or feedback or whatever you want to call it is great and button action is great too. The whole thing feels solid like a controller should.

Nimbus looks better and is a better brand. Not saying it's pretty, just less ugly. Apple was involved in its design.

Does the Mad Catz have a Lightning port?

Going to the Nimbus site, it seems that it's only for Apple TV, and the Stratus XL for iOS. Does the Nimbus work with iOS?

Nimbus looks like a winner too. I got my ctrli a couple years ago when it came out and it was by far the best on the market at that point. Ive had no complaints.

I've got the nimbus. I'm not massively into games but I like the fact that I can use it with my Apple TV, iPads and iPhone. I could use it with my MacBook Air if I wanted to play games on there. It works well for my needs.

Thanks for the input. I think Nimbus will be it, paired with the iPad Pro 9.7, I can definitely turn it into a mobile gaming device.

I'm using a teeny tiny SteelSeries Stratus that I got off meh.com awhile back for $30. I have tiny hands, so it works out nicely and it's portable. :)

If I had it to buy over, I'd probably buy the Nimbus though -- the Stratus is a little "clicky" noise-wise on the buttons, and the size of the Nimbus is pretty nice.

Love my iPad Pro XL but need a good controller. Anybody have a recommendation or experience with one?

Steel Series Nimbus is the flat out winner. It is built very well. It feels like using a PlayStation controller. There is zero latency between hitting a button and what happens on screen. The battery lasts forever! I can go weeks without charging it and when it is time to charge I just plug in a lightning cable to it.

That's actually quite a valuable point, because the last thing I want to do, and one of the reasons I went with Apple Smart Keyboard, is charge a separate device often.

Beware of controllers that lack the L3 and R3 (aka clicking the analog sticks) buttons. Don't know if that's all MFI controllers, but the CTRLi certainly lacks them.

The reasons this is important is for remote controlling games. Remote control technology is becoming truly awesome, to the point where running something like Moonlight (client for Nvidia Gamestream) in 1080p 60hz is a a perfectly viable option for playing some games from your PC in other parts of the house. If you do, those two missing buttons will annoy you.

Simply put, no. The Mad Catz is a good controller, nice joysticks, decent buttons but the d-pad is really sloppy and spongy.

The Steelseries Nimbus is flat out the best controller made for iOS devices so far. And like all MFI controllers it works on any iOS device and Apple TV.

Hi, my kids are looking for controller to play FIFA16 on iPad Pro. Which would you recommend?
Thanks!

As others have said, I will likely be picking up a Steel Series Nimbus, as it seems to be the best all-around controller.
