I am looking to purchase a 24" iMac in January if/when they are updated. It will replace my Windows PC and I was wondering will it play games such as COD4 in Windows via Parallels or even bootcamp?

Sure. It'll even play COD4 in OS X. Skip parallels though.

My 24" iMac 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo (current model) plays COD4 just fine via bootcamp. :)

The iMac you are thinking of getting will play any current game on the market just fine :)

The January iMac release should have the Nvidia 9600 (or hopefully the Radeon 4850) so it will handle all but the most demanding games (i.e. Crysis) with few problems.
