OS X games similar to AoE

Hi all,

my SO wants to play AoE. She won't do bootcamp (or Parallels, ...) so i'm looking for something that has similar gameplay but can be run on Mac OS X.

I know there is exists some hack-thread how to run AoE HD in wine/playonmac but i'm not feeling good with this. I want an easy path (install and go).

Do you guys know anything OS X game that is similar to AoE?

P.S.: She uses Steam if that is helpful.

I was a big AoE2 player on Mac and now I started playing through Wine on Steam... it's worth it. But with that said I also recently discovered Company of Heroes which is a RTS set in WW2. It's pretty good.

While not technically the same style of gameplay I find myself often nostalgic for AoE while playing Civilization.
