Anyone know of some decent games that are formatted properly for the 11 inch iPad Pro screen? Hard to find anything in that regard that looks decent on this new iPad.

Thanks.

I actually hope they don't update unless they are removing the Home Bar with that same update; having the Home Bar can be visually jarring and even affect gameplay for most games

I am going to disagree here, I don't like the home bar at all and wish you could hide it, but I would much prefer games be updated to fit the display. Some look terrible now as they look so small.

So far, although I've got the 12.9", if they're optimised for that they should be for the 11" as well.
Of the games I have, only Alto's Odyssey and Bean Dreams take full advantage of the screen size. Hoping Grid Autosport will get an update soon. Well, that and all the other games.

Good point! I too want to see the display fully used up too but that Home Bar needs to go. I wonder if the app developers can make the bar transparent within their apps only

Apple suggests that we keep the bar visible, but yes we are able to hide it. However it is up to the developers to implement this (very easy) method. Oh, and it will of course become visible again if you swipe up from the bottom, but will disappear again if not used. It's just so you can return to the home screen or task switcher.

Ah I see, hope the devs will take note as right now all apps have the Home Bar visible at all times or the Bar will be visible as long as I tap on it, not swipe up from bottom

So far Asphalt 9 is one of the only games I have installed that, while not yet fully optimised for iPad Pro, does at least hide the home bar. So in their next update I’m hoping for a proper full screen game.

Wow that's fast, two of my games are just updated, let me see if the Home Bar is hidden too

Interesting wiki, I knew nothing of these games until now

My main problem with games just now is every time I play one it reminds me I really need to get on with mine. I’ve been a bit lazy with programming of late, too many things to distract me.

Like that’s a hardship, I’m playing games on every system I’ve owned since the 1970’s for my upcoming articles. It’s a hard life but somebody’s got to do it :p

I learned from these forums that you can turn on Guided Access to fix that when you're playing a game where the home bar is an issue.

Good call, I'd forgotten about that. It's a bit of a faff but at least it works. Still, it would be better if developers implemented what is little more than a single line of simple code

I still think Apple should address this - the same gestures mostly work on the iPads with a home button so we don't really need this home bar. Even if it only shows for the first few times after a new device set up or is a setting the user can disable.

I’ve had that very discussion with people at apple (not the support staff) they are adamant that it’s necessary for the time being as a visual cue.

I can see their point, to a point :D Of the many, many millions of people who buy them, not everyone is as tech savvy as ourselves. I experienced it first hand with my dad when he got his X. Dear god what a nightmarish few weeks that was.

I think it’ll remain, for the foreseeable future. But perhaps once enough time has passed for Apple to be comfortable that enough of their user base will be familiar with it, we may see it’s use reduced, if not gone entirely. Fingers crossed.

To be honest most of the time I don’t really register it anymore. But when I do, it annoys me. Particularly with games, when it’s so easy to hide the damn thing.

I think a good compromise would be to leave it on by default, but have a switch somewhere in settings (perhaps buried a bit, to avoid a novice user accidentally enabling it) that would hide the bar.

Sounds like an interesting project! Will be happy to read them once you are ready! :)

Sadly the updates are not meant to resolve the iPad Pro 2018 black bars for both games

Thanks! This indeed removed the Home Bar and disabled all multi touch gestures. Perfect for the games I play! Just need to get used to not being able to access the Control Center while in Guided Mode

Now I too want the black bars removed! :p

Me too! I can't think of a single game I've tried that's been updated to remove them yet.

none of my games, NBA 2K19 looks horrible the demo on keynote was epic would that be a separate app coming out just for iPad or just a update to normal iOS app?

Any boardgame digital game has been updated for the new screen size? San Juan, Puerto Rico, Ascension and Eclipse are not yet updated.
