Early this week it came out that Defy Media was buying GameTrailers from Viacom. Apparently today was the end of the line as most of GT's staff got pink slips.

Layoffs hit GameTrailers day after E3

Hopefully everyone impacted moves on to bigger and better things.

There's an extensive thread on Gaf about it (including some chiming in of current and former GT staff) and here is a specific post with a then up to date list of who got a pink slip and who didn't.

I haven't heard anything about Bosman being released. Bloodworth and a couple of other people said they were offered positions at the 'new' GT but were deciding whether or not to accept them so Bosman might be in that situation too.

Pachter said he did his segments on a volunteer basis so I assume Pach-Attack will still be around since it's costs very little to produce and he is popular.

Besides the people listed there were also a number of video editors let go too.

Gametrailers E3 coverage during and post was not as good as last year, I'm guessing the company shakeup has something to do with that.

Yeah, that probably had something to do with it.
