Just got a new 24" iMac and I can't get the "F" keys to work while playing games. They all have other assignments on them and whenever I hit "F1" to check the score during Halo for instance, nothing happens. The "F2" also has no response for my kid's Lego Star Wars game. What am I missing here?

    Thanks in advance!

I have a feeling that the brightness controls on F1 & F2 might be the cause.

System Prefs > Keyboard and Mouse.

There's a checkbox: "use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" or something. Make sure it's checked.
