I hope this will be the correct forum to ask this question? If not, I do apologize. I will be purchasing a Macbook Pro later this month. I have never been a big PC gamer so I'm not good with what specs are good for a gaming machine. Along with that, I have only played WoW on my iMac. With that being said, I am looking to play the game Warhammer when it comes out later this year. Of course it will only be released for PC so I will be running boot camp. A few questions: 1. Has anyone had good experience with PC gaming on a Macbook Pro? 2. What can I expect in terms of quality while running through boot camp? Any advice would be great! Thanks!
although I havent gamed on a Mac myself, I am looking forward to it (getting a high-end 17" Macbook Pro later this week) from what I have seen on YouTube, it does decently, but not the best. Saw a guy play Bioshock on it (8600GTm 256mb) at medium settings and ok resolution and he got 30 fps average. Orange Box does decently on it. Oblivion does pretty good, saw a guy play it at 1920x1200 at high settings (for the most part) and it only lagged here and there, not too bad
I play COD4 on it in high settings with 1440x900, and it frame skips sometimes, but it's good enough to play.
Damn you! (i have one of those 700.000 pending applications... ) ... i'm going to buy a MBP for Warhammer Online too Any previous gaming experiences i'v had with Boot Camp has been great. So far i've only gotten one problem: I need to run windows
Wonderful info! And isn't the Beta running at full blast? That does make me happy to know that I won't have to buy a PC / PC laptop for the game.
It is, and i really can't tell you anything since its NDA and stuff. But let me say that it's gonna rock, and you should be very exited
He could have a different macbook pro spec to the one you are getting, what is the spec of the one you are getting?
I'm planning on getting: Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 17-inch high-resolution widescreen display 2GB memory 160GB hard drive; 7200 rpm 8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB of GDDR3 memory Built-in iSight Camera I imagine it will run WAR with no problem...
