All my daughter wants to do is the ability to transfer work between the two Garagebands for OS X and iOS. It seems this is impossible at the moment. She does not want to transfer the music, but the entire work file between the 2 devices. She creates in one, and then on the road want to edit the one made on OS X on the iOS version and vice versa. Any ideas?

Would be nice to know what devices are being used in her situation.

Has she tried any or all of these options?

This thread on Apple Support https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4111769 states:
"Projects you create in GarageBand for Mac also cannot be opened in GarageBand for iOS."

Mac Mini mid 2011 running Yosemite with the latest GB installed, iPad Mini 3 with 8.3.3 with the latest GB installed. Whenever I transfer an OS X file to iOS, I get the reply that "iOS can not use an OS X Garageband file."

I just tried this:

It worked for me. Maybe a resinstall of the OS is needed?

Others have said try uploading the file to the iCloud. I would have to say it is almost definitely Yosemite interfering with the file transfer or not allowing it.

I can easily transfer the SONG from platform to platform, it is the actual work files that I want to transfer so they can be edited in both programs, independently of each other. The output is simply an AIFF File and that I can move around at will.
