I need to remove the installed garageband jampacks to free up space.

How would I go about doing this without removing the core program itself?

I'm not positive, but I don't think there is a core program.

Once you've installed it, garageband/logic just reads your garageband loops folders, and if there's loops in there, you can use them, if they're not in there, they aren't selectable in the program.

Once you put the loops back into the folder, then you can use them again in those programs.

I burned all the loops from the jam pack 4 to free up space, then later I went back and used the DVD I burned to put the loops back in and it was fine.

Now, I have an external HD, so I just dragged the folder with the loops in it to the external. then I held down apple+option to create a shortcut back to it's original location, and it works great.

same concepts apply for the EXS instruments I think...:) :)
