Here is a puzzler for any garageband experts out there.

Garageband is running much slower on my new dual-core Macbook than on my old G4 desktop.

I can run 9-10 tracks of audio on my G4 desktop and only 4-5 tacks (same project, same tracks) on my brand new dual-core Macbook before i get a "Disk to slow" error. Whats going on here? Why is my new mac slower? The processor is far faster

    Details:
Old Desktop - 1.42Ghz G4 processer, 1.5gb Ram, stock audio card
New laptop - 2.26Ghz core 2 Duo, 2gb Ram, Stock audio card

Both have exact same OS (snow leopord), exact same Garageband (ilife '10), exact same VST plug-ins

This is NOT and garageband audio settings problem, both are set the same.

This is NOT a harddrive problem, new Macbook is working of 7200rpm primary drive

This is NOT an energy saver setting, both are the same.

Please help! I'd really like to use my new computer to record but right now i'm stuck still using my 6 year old desktop becuase it's faster!

How did you install Snow Leopard on a G4?
