Garageband question.

How can you prevent the little triangle pointing down from going and going even after playback or recording is finished?

Also when I record with built-in mic on my MBP, Audacity sounds very nice while Garageband doesn't sound as nice. What can account for the discrepancy?

I take back the "very nice" for Audacity, it seems it sounds about the same.
