It only costs apple like $175 to make an iPhone yet they charge $679!!!!! This company should be stopped!!!!

Why didn't you do your homework to see what other items in similier shape were going for? No body forced you to use Gazelle or go with the price they offered you.

I have done several transactions with them and have nothing but nice results. They are quick and easy and no hassle (ala ebay or craiglists).

I agree. Each of the many transactions I've done with Gazelle have gone fast and smooth. I've sold them iPhone's and iPads, those return the best prices.

Sorry, but you should have done your research...when you're lazy about resale; you typically end up getting screwed and your laziness is EXACTLY what Gazelle and other companies like it depend on.

I just checked them for giggles to see what they would pay for a NEW galaxy note 3 ($700 new, $550+ on eBay)...$300...

They are a complete rip off.

They're not a ripoff. They provide a service. It's literally the most convenient way to get rid of a cell phone.

----------

When you consider the fact they have to resale the unit and make a profit they're not a resale. Its like trading in a car to a dealership. You'll get far less money from them, then if you went and sold the car yourself. The convenience factor is important and so saving time and headaches count for something.

Whether you decide to use them or not is your decision and since you think they're a rip off then its safe to find a different solution.

I hear of too many issues with selling phones online now a days, to the point I'd rather not deal with those hassles and headaches.

Exactly this. They're not marketing to the ebay power users or the craiglist addicts, they're marketing to the 40 year old who has three iPhones in his desk drawer that are deactivated and off contract.

Why didn't you research it before you let someone else tell you how much it was worth? Seriously, if everyone had half a brain they would be out of business. I wasn't gonna sell it but I wanted to see how much they would try to rip me off. Brand new 6s mint condition $300.

I've been struggling with this decision for the last 5 years. Thanks for the thread necro. Now I've made my mind up.

Make a point to look at the date of the OP next time. You responded to an OP that is 4+ years old.

In fairness, some of the "similar threads" are pretty dated.

Gazelle is great for some, but if you're willing to put in a little effort you can get a little more.
