Hahahaha. This is a joke right?
I checked this site out. $120 for my cracked back, no vibrate factory unlocked iPhone 4? I sold it for $200 to someone and we both thought it was a very good deal. Yikes. $120

EDIT: Lmfao, what?! $491 for a top of the line 17" MacBook Pro?! What a ripoff

you retard if you sell a mac on it. For an iphone it is good though.

Gazelle is going to resell the items. They are a business, of course you are going to be able to sell it for more yourself. They are trying to make money. IIRC, they also pay for shipping and send you a box. Since they guarantee their quotes for 30 days, you could get a quote 30 days before the iphone is released and give it to them when you get your new phone. Probably worth the few dollars you lose for not risking getting robbed on craigslist or not having to deal with scammers on ebay or paying their fees, then paying paypal fees, then paying for shipping. For higher end stuff, it might be worth it to sell it yourself.

You guys are nuts to sell like this. So much hastle, uncertainty, and dealing with Paypal.

I listed my 16gb 4S last weekend locally. Within 4 hours I had $350 cash in my hand. These sites offer less than I have ever heard of devices selling locally.

I got $320 for my 32gb white iphone 4s which was in perfect condition. It was a simple process. I would definitely consider Gazelle again. I got my payment via paypal within 3 business days from when they ok'd the condition. I think there was even a minor scratch on the steel band that wraps around the phone. Gazelle still gave me the full $320.

Agree. IMHO, good things come to those who wait. With a little patience its not that hard to sell locally and pay no fees. Best Buy is even worse. I got a quote from them for a perfect first generation iPad 64GB 3G. They were going to give me $147. No way!

Agree that these companies are out to make money. They provide a good service for those who don't want the hassle. After a few experiences however, I got tired of throwing money away. You don't become a millionaire by tossing money into the toilet. :)

I just posted my 16GB 4S AT&T on CL for $350 and just got an offer for $300 to be picked up tomorrow. Gazelle wants to give me $200 for my 4S. Now I gotta find that charger for my BB to use until I find an iPhone 5.

Exactly. All about convenience and security. It has its place. Great company and easy and safe. Especially if you have a really damaged phone like me that's harder to sell locally or on eBay. You still get good money from gazelle since they can sell them for parts and have so many channels they work through.

so true. I think for younger kids trying to sell their phone or older parents who would never venture into craigslist it is perfect and will keep them in business.

I always sell my previous gen iPhone on Craigslist - usually the same exact day that I get the new one. I always get much more than what Gazelle offers and I get CASH in hand that day.

Easiest thing to do is take good pics of your old iPhone/box/accessories/etc and put up a nice, detailed ad on CL. I leave my phone number to accelerate the process and then I decide who seems like the most "normal" person with the fairest offer.

I then meet them at my local mall or another neutral place to do the transaction. Never had a problem. Sold my 16GB 4S the day I got the 5 for $325.:D 16% more than Gazelle's $280 quote (plus shipping and waiting time).

that's not cool. I always either match or cut the price in half depending on condition and age.

In my experience Gazelle is a quick lowball. A much better price can be had locally. I usually try family, friends and coworkers first and get top dollar. My last phone sold $100 above what Gazelle offered me.

The quotes thru Gazelle have gone down since the launch of the 5.

My $280 16gig quote was before Sept 21st.

That beats my 100 dollars for my 6 month old rezound or my 2 and half year old driod incredible at 16 dollars.

does gazelle still send you a box? or do you need to find/buy your own box

Sorry nevermind, yes they do

I got an offer of $153 for an 16 iPhone 4.

touche. About 8 bucks higher than what gazelle offered me.

I think my problem is that I had already locked a gazelle offer in and then the overall values went down so when I checked ebay it was lower

Gazelle is always going to offer you less than what you could sell it for on ebay, etc. They will offer you $100 less than what you can get, and then turn around and sell it for what you could have got selling it on your own. If that is acceptable to you, and you rather have them do the work, then it is a good service. What is $100 worth to you? That's really what it comes down to. No doubt you can get more selling it, but you might end up with a whining customer who finds a scratch, or the screen isn't perfect etc, or the battery is not very good, etc; and then complains to ebay you ripped them off and so on. Or you could get a perfectly content buyer.

So, I've got an imac I've been trying to sell on CL for about a month and no calls yet. I live in a moderately sized town and have what I think is a reasonable price -- not even any reasonable offers.-- So I am considering Gazelle.

They have offered a good bit less, but it would (hopefully) be a no hassle, no risk way to sell the imac.

So do they honor their initial offers? Do they pay timely?

They are a rip off. Look at a few others first, amazon trade in, eBay trade in, and I think the best one newtonshead.com

My example. I sold my ipad 2 3G 16gb. Gazelle offered me $230. I just sold it for $340 on Amazon.

I don't see why people think it's such a "hassle" to sell locally on Craigslist or online via eBay or Amazon. Sure, selling online means they take a small portion of the money you make, but at least it's a hell of a lot more than what you'll get from trade-in sites like Gazelle. It's really not that diffuclt to sell online. If you don't wanna wait in line at the post office, print out a shipping label and schedule a pickup. USPS offers pre-paid boxes for $5-$15 and offer FREE pick up on items shipped Priority or Express mail. Anything else is just laziness if you ask me.

Totally agree with this. I just sold my iP4 last week in mint condition locally on Kijiji for $325. Gazelle's offer is $165. Pretty substantial difference.

I would never deal with this company again ! I bought a palm pixi brand new of eBay years ago. I decided I didn't want it. Gazelle offered me $185 for it. I accepted. After they received it they said there was a scratch on the back. And only gave me $130. Phone was brand new and flawless. Stay away is all I can say.
