I ran Geekbench on my i7 2.93 today in OSX and Win 7 64 bit. I only ran both in 32 bit mode because I haven't bought the 64bit version of geekbench yet. My scores were:

    OSX 32bit: 9232

    Win7 32bit: 8050

Why is it so much slower in Windows? Did I install Boot Camp incorrectly, or is this a normal thing? Thanks.

I can only speculate because I don't know for sure but maybe it's because bootcamp is like running a virtual machine, which I wouldn't expect to perform as well.

It would be more fair to run a identical desktop macine PC with win7. Of course I don't remember ever seeing a core i7 desktop pc with 4GB of ram, so you would have to take half of it out. :D It would be interesting...

I few minutes ago I did a search on geekbench and it seems the avg. number for people using an i7 2.93 iMac in windows is from 8000-8200. Odd. I answered my own question in a way, I still wonder why it's so much lower.
