I assume that the old G5 mac was pretty bad at 64bit-stuff compared to its 32bit calculations. Since all scores are normalized to the performance of that computer ( = 1000 IIRC), this will mean that the newer architectures that are more 64bit focused will fare relatively better towards that benchmark then the 32bit one.
