GeForce 320M dead; a warning to all 2010 13" owners

When i got an exchange, they picked the old one up 2 days before the new one was delivered. So don't count on that

They just ship a new one from china and orders a pickup by a local company.

Denmark gets deliveries from the center in The Netherlands, but I'm taking a backup for good measure anyway.

No, only in stock models ship from Netherlands, CTO and new releases are often shipped directly from China!

Also, I noticed that the fan was running far more often than on my old 2.26 GHz machine, but since iStat Pro doesn't display GPU temperature, I never bothered to check.

It displays GPU temperature for me, although I have a 330M.

I think it's because of the integrated GPU on 9400M/320M models. The GPU is integrated in the north bridge of the chipset. The northbridge temp appears in istat.

The GPU temperature can be seen in HWMonitor in Windows though.

Also, Apple has processed my order, and a new one should be here by Friday. My current one is being picked up within 48 hours.

Apple have given me the option of returning and getting a new one, or sending it in for service.

As mentioned above, the delivery time is 3 days for a new machine.

take the new-for-old offer - Apple will ensure you get a good one and may throw in a $50 iTunes voucher as a sweetener for the inconvenience.

I dont see how this is a "warning" to 13" MBP peeps. There will always be failed components. Id say this is more bad luck than anything. Mine is working fine.

So True. These forums are filled with these sort of dire warnings.

I honestly think this is just a bad case, the battery life says 3 hours with 75% left(medium brightness, wifi on, casual browsing) and the trackpad seems "loose", it makes a annoying clicking sound every time you tap or touch it. At first the touchpad was very rigid, and didn't register clicks at all.

I hope the next one will be better!

PS. I would change the title, to help you all feel better but unfortunately this is not a possibility
