So I had a 2007 macbook .. and now I have retired it and bought a new Air, I tried to take off my GelaSkin (it's mainly pink) and I am giving this old laptop to my son as it still works perfect, anyhow the GelaSkin was awful to remove... and left a grey sticky residue all over the top of the laptop? I have emailed them as the website says this cannot happen, and when I bought this Skin in 2008/2009 (they still sell it) I was careful about placing it, and the website says it uses special materials that do not leave any residue and allow for easy removal? I have e-mailed them in the meantime but was wondering if anyone else here has had a similar experience?

This is bad news! I have had a Gelaskin on my 11" MBA for about 14 months. Now I'm almost afraid to take it off to see what's under it.

Maybe they should be removed every so often. I thought of doing this but wondered if it would ruin the Gelaskin.

I'd really be interested in what their response is.
