Gelaskins NYC eboy

Got my iPhone 4 and gelaskins today and decided to put the NYC from eboy on.

I really like the back and still undecided if i want to keep the front. I like the front when you can see the wallpaper but when you can't it looks a little odd.

The skin was very easy to put on and while I can't seem to make it fit perfect it's certainly very good. I re-applied the skin a few different times with no major issues.

What do you guys think?

I've got the very same on mine! :)

I'm surprised you even kept the skin bit over the home button. Doesn't that make pressing the button harder? I threw that bit away.

If I keep the front on, I will probably keep the home button covered because i like the way it keeps the continuity of the image. I haven't found it that hard to press down.

Just make sure if you put the home button on that you only use the middle part and ditch the ring. around it, I almost forgot and it would not have fit very well.

Also update on the Screen Protector for 7 bucks, after using it for 24 hours it is verging on a waste of money it collects prints and grease worse than most of the glossy protectors I have seen. It looks great inside when the screen is on, but it was almost completely unusable outside today.

Cool idea C-Boo

Yeah it is...I'm wondering how much of a pain it is to cut up the leftovers of the gelaskin to use as a border around the screen. I'm about to make my own with a white front and think it looks better with the white border.

It's a pain but worth it

Don't get me wrong, It does take some work and a lot of patience, but i think its worth it. I noticed too that the remainder pieces of the gelaskin paper have the same stick and material underneath it as do the already pre-cutout pieces.

ok didnt read the entire thread, except the first few pages.

So did they fix the flash problem? and also how is the application? water based? or glue? or just "clingy"

Yes, they fixed the flash problem. It used to be two circle cutouts but now it is a big teardrop. I have the new version and I took pics in a dark room and there was no difference with the gelaskin on. There is an adhesive on the back of the skin, but it's not super sticky. It is easy to peel up and readjust the skin until it's perfect.

This is going to be the best one EVAR! Just got to find a better pic to get the lights on the sides. Anyone have any better pics? Also, how are you guys getting larger thumb images from gelaskin for a preview?

Would you mind sharing your SW templates? I love all the ones you've posted so far!

I'm not giving them any more business or recommending them until they fix the problem with customers like me who got the "old cut-out".

Someone from Gelaskins posted that they would exchange any of the old ones free of chage: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/958966/

About the flash issue; We've got a solution and are just waiting on another small detail to fall into place, so we should have something to talk about in a week or so. When we do make the change, any of you folks that are experiencing the issue and would like to exchange it, we'll happily replace the skin for you free of charge.

Oh and since I've got your time, I'll plug our current contest! we're giving away an iPhone 4 to one lucky follower once we reach 7500 Twitter followers. Just follow us and RT to enter.

Cheers,
Brian

Thanks. Now what to use? I guess we will have to cut a screen protector of our choice to fit.
