Gemini is the worst AI. Can't believe Apple went with Alphabet.

It's not that cut-and-dry. Apple has employed Gemini in a very structured way to power _some_ of the features. Many feature are powered by Apple's own on-device models, not Gemini.

This is just a way for Apple to get the engines revving, and then Gemini will become optional, eventually.

Unfortunately, I find the Gemini app on my Macbook to often be a LOT slower than the good old web page interface, so I've gone back to that.

Since Google released Gemini 3.5 Flash Lite on search webpage it works well for me.

I prefer to use the regular Flash option instead of Flash Lite so I can get more detailed replies, so I'm used to some delay in receiving a response, but often when I use the Gemini app, those delays are a lot longer than they are in the web interface.
