Genius Bar appointment question

My wife's iphone 4s on/off switch stopped working. She literally uses her phone for text/facebook/calls, and never updates the thing. I'm not even sure what computer she used when setting it up initially.

My question is, can the apple store transfer her contacts and pics/vids to a replacement phone? Or do I need to back them up on some computer before I go?

You can back it up through icloud or though itune on a computer. I doubt the genius bar will do it for you

Due to apples popularity there always busy these days so don't get the time to backup devices. As above turn iCloud backup on
