ever since i updated, and synced to 9.0, my iphone has started to have a hard time genius-ing things. it would take a while, and then eventually crash the whole ipod. now my ipod works well, but if i click on the screen once to access the genius pop up, the whole ipod screen freezes whatever song i am on, no buttons including home and lock are responsive, and i eventually have to hard-reset. anyone familiar with this? i dont use genius that often, but its driving me insane because it happens if i simply touch the screen once

Hey,

I have the exact same problem. It started about 2 months ago, I decided to upgrade to version 3 in the hope this would solve the issue, but no luck.

This is what happens:
I play a song, then while it's playing I click on the genius to generate a playlist. The song which is playing then seems to get stuck in a loop and plays the same second of music over and over until I do a hard reset...the system basically freezes up like a Windows PC crash.

Anyone know how to do a proper full restore? or how to solve this issue?

Same problem here. My iPhone is buggy, like beta software, like something I shouldn't be paying money for.

...the system basically freezes up like a Windows PC crash.

iPhone OS =OSX??!!! yeah right, we've all been using Windows Mobile all along.

I haven't had this on any iPhone or iPod touch I've used so far. Trying restoring by click Restore in iTunes. And see if you completely restore, not from a backup, gives you that same problem. If not, then something was messed up with your old iPod's settings/etc. If the problem still persists, take it in to your local Apple Store and make a Genius Bar appointment before you go.
