Hi Everyone, Does the below image annoy anyone else other then myself?

Cant help but see this as a design oversight, maybe an intended one - but could have been designed to look a lot nicer. For all of the Genius playlists I have, an ugly Genius cog is present - instead of a nice collection of artwork (which I note is present - when you click into the playlists themselves).

I have reported this to Apple and looks like others have, as it is listed as a duplicated bug. However I have no hope that this will be fixed anytime soon. Seeing as I have bug reports dating back to 2011 & 2012 which haven't even been responded to....

I forgot if you can do this on iOS considering they're Genius playlists and not the regular/smart playlists, but on the OS X version of iTunes, you can drag whatever image you want in there and it'll let you resize/set it and it'll show up in the Music app.

EDIT: On that screenshot, those are Smart Playlists. If you click "Edit", you can click the camera icon and pick an image to associate with it.

The grid of album covers only generate with the regular playlists.

Does it bother me that it works that way? No (but I'm using the custom image feature, got one of those text overlay photo apps and made some iTunes Radio-esque "Recently Added" etc covers and called it a day).

Thanks for the reply! I would completely understand that the album grid only generates for normal playlists, but if you navigate into the actual genius playlists themselves the artwork is there - and updates based on the genius playlist refresh rate - it just doesn't translate to the list view.

To be honest, I did forget that you can add your own image - thanks for that! Although would rather the album artwork, as I'm not sure I can find an image that would be vaguely relevant to music lol. Unless I make my own grid album artwork via photoshop....thats an idea...

Even more interestingly, just tried added a custom playlist image as you mentioned - this adds it immediately to the playlist view replacing the ugly clog genius symbol. Problem is, I can now not find a way to revert back and remove the custom image... definitely seems like a bug to me.

    EDIT -

If you notice in the screenshots Ive attached. For example the 'My Top Rated' playlist - does not have artwork in the 'inline view' however this does appear fine when clicking on the playlist.

Further down, if you notice the 'Recently Added (4 Months)' playlist - this is a custom image I have just added - oddly this appears straight away in the in line view & also in the playlist view.

    Very annoying and odd :(
