iPod touch Genius?

If the genius playlist thing works for almost all of my songs on itunes then shouldn't it work for the my ipod touch (gen 1, yes i got the update). Only like 10 songs will work with genius on my ipod while on my itunes almost all the songs will work....what gives? Am i doing something wrong? I already re-updated genius. What do i do?
