I tried to use that a few times. The feature just doesn’t work. Everything I got is more cringe and creepy than usable.I tried replicating the “smiley relaxing wearing cucumbers” genmoji and these are what I got:

Definitely not ready for prime time. 🙄😂
What's this 'keyboard' thing you speak of.....?I'm so old I don't even have the regular emoji keyboard thing enabled, not my cup of tea.
No need: Apple will send you a notificationOk Ive been on it about 1 week now so I reckon I just gotta keep checking

It will indeed! I was surprised with the variety on the most basic emojis. Finally, this is going to dramatically improve my ability to annoy my spouse with even an even larger variety of cat and cat-related emojis.
So far I've only been running my family through it. We all started out nightmarish and improved over time. EXCEPT my niece who was perfect from photo one. At one point we were like we will watch whatever show this character is on lol. She looks like a Disney princess.I dunno about genmoji, but Image Playground s*cks badly. Full of mistakes, and it doesn't understand what I'm telling it.
Can't use genmoji on Mac, though..So far I've only been running my family through it. We all started out nightmarish and improved over time. EXCEPT my niece who was perfect from photo one. My brother on the other hand still looks like a long lost brother we didn't know we had.
It inexplicably removes my eyeglasses and sometimes it only includes parts of eyeglasses.
Overall it's fairly limited at the moment which is fine because where would I use all of these. The novelty wears off pretty quickly. The Genmoji are fun though.
I agree this is a really strange implementation. With standard emojis I know what they are but these could be anything. I've been making sure to send a genmoji on a line by itself. The large emojis you see in iMessage when you just send the emoji are easy to see and, often, readily understood. But the tiny versions you get inline with text are ridiculously small and can be very hard to interpret.
If these appear the same size as other inline emojis, I can't imagine using them.
I too think they will be very popular.I agree this is a really strange implementation. With standard emojis I know what they are but these could be anything. I've been making sure to send a genmoji on a line by itself.
I think the people that don't think genmoji will be popular are very, very wrong.
This reminds me of the "Exact Instructions" challenge we had to do in school for making a PB&J sandwich. We had to write down the instructions, and someone else would have to follow them exactly. The results were interesting and very few ended up with the correct product.I tried replicating the “smiley relaxing wearing cucumbers” genmoji and these are what I got:

You can use ones you've made on your phone on your Mac.Can't use genmoji on Mac, though..
If only iPhone 15 was supported... 🤬You can use ones you've made on your phone on your Mac.
Ah, I have 15 Pro. It's not THAT fun anyway 😬If only iPhone 15 was supported... 🤬
Results definitely aren't perfect but they can be very funny. If they would just let you select any photo like the Image Playground interface does it would be so much better.Long gone are the days I would consider any form of beta software, so am awaiting the final release. I already have some specific use cases where it converting to an image would be just fine. If it works as I hope!
I changed the prompt to “Smiley relaxing with cucumbers on eyes” and got this:This reminds me of the "Exact Instructions" challenge we had to do in school for making a PB&J sandwich. I know this was an attempt to replicate Apple's marketing material (which may have just been a mock-up), but it doesn't say where the smiley should be wearing the cucumbers. Do you at least get better results if the request is more specific? I agree that AI should have figured out what you meant though.
