Just thought I‘d share my experience with first buying a Fake Lightning to HDMI adapter off eBay and then comparing it to the Genuine Apple AV Digital Lightning to HDMI adapter, which i bought later.

The fake eBay one:
-$15 USD
-200ms lag and frequently dropped frames made this thing unusable
-it changed the time in the top left corner of the iPad to 9:41am and it never changed while the adapter was plugged in. Weird.

Genuine Apple one:
-$50 USD
-100ms lag - not noticeable with normal use
-no dropped frames
-I’ve read that the genuine one has 256mb of RAM.

The genuine one is more expensive, but it works.

I also bought a "cheap" one - not marketed as a fake - but I hated it and bought the genuine one pretty much the next day. The cheap one I had took a while to engage, had lag and relied on screen mirroring for everything - even video playback. Audio lag was real. Big fan of the real thing.

It may be expensive, but it was 100% worth it. It's also cheaper than the Apple TV 4K that I was planning to buy for this TV.
